God and things that are "necessary"!

A trip to Target always seems to bring out the boy in Owen. He insists on looking at practically every car known to man in the "truck aisle". He is promised a trip to this section if he behaves the entire time mommy is gathering the things we are in need of. As I was searching threw the rack of sunglasses Owen whips off his sweatshirt to reveal the most disgustingly dirty, cat hair covered, black shirt I have ever seen. I am sure my face was red with embarrassment. I immediately told him to put his sweatshirt back on. He responds by looking me right in the eye and saying "Mom, is that really necessary?" Of course there was an audience present, like usual. I am sure they all wondered where my child comes up with the things he says. I would have responded to their questions by saying "that is Owen"!

As we were driving home from Target he begins to question me on what I would do with a bad guy. I guess this superhero thing is really getting to him. I asked him what he would do and he responded by saying he would hurt them. I told Owen we never hurt anyone. He then told me God would take care of the bad guys. I instantly agreed. This led into his constant questions about God. Here are a few of the 20 some he asked. What color is God? Does he wear a coat? What color is his coat? Where is he right now? How can he be in the van if I can't see him? How did he get into my heart? Anyone else have children who ask so much? As you can see he has lots of questions. I answered them all to best of my ability, but I fear in another 5 years he may ask me questions I cannot answer! Knowledge is power.
